This spring, while preparing the field, I noticed something encouraging.

The earthworms were back.

Years ago, finding an earthworm here was uncommon.

Today, turning over a shovel of soil often reveals several worms moving through the earth.

Earthworms are nature’s way of telling us that the soil is alive.

They loosen the soil, improve drainage, and help organic matter become nutrients for plants.

For a farmer, their presence is worth more than many numbers on a report.

A healthy harvest begins long before planting.

It begins underground.
